William gave Aaron his birthday present a little early so that Aaron's parade costume could be fully accessorized. Little boys seem to have a fascination with cowboy boots, and my boys are no exception. William picked out the boots at the store, brought them home and reverently wrapped them and then lovingly made a card and placed it on top of the package. He was so excited for Aaron to come home from school to open his present. 
The next day, on Halloween, Aaron's school held a day-long celebration of "American My Home", kicking off the day with a parade around several blocks downtown Columbia. The students were encouraged to dress up as someone from American history or who represented America to them. Here are a few of the characters from the day.

Aaron had a great day and is still enjoying his new boots.
