Snowey and Spots

The rudely cold Saturday this past weekend did not keep us from having a wonderful time at the St. Louis Zoo! We met my Aunt Janet and Uncle Tom there, and they had a great time spoiling the boys for the day. The boys adore them and enjoyed every moment. There is a new dinosour exhibit at the zoo which the boys have been looking forward to experiencing. It lived up to their expecations. Here they are running away from a venom spitting dino.

One of their favorite parts of the day was their time in the "Build a Bear Workshop" with Uncle Tom and Aunt Janet. Uncle Tom said "Do you like stuffed animals?" and Aaron said "We LOVE them!". Uncle Tom let them each pick out any animal they wanted and they proceeded with the "stuffing" process - complete with making a wish on the heart that goes inside and filling out the birth certificate. The boys were instantly in love with their new Cheetah and Snow Leapard, and they have become their new favorite lovey. When they got home from the zoo, they gave Snowey and Spots a tour of the entire house, and of course Snowey and Spots sleep with them in the primo spot in their beds.

Many of the animals were very cooperative, most of all the giraffes. We spent about 20 minutes just sitting outside their pens as they took turns thrilling the crowd by eating grass about 12 inches from our faces. The penguins and puffins are always a hight point as well.

Here are a few more random pictures from our day:

After 10 days of The Project, I needed the day off. And, yes, many thanks to Tom and Janet. Snowey and Spots are very special. As William said, "his heart is for luuuuuuv." The boys had a wonderful day and it was very restful for me too.

Thanks for sharing some of your photos too. The only thing you didn't mention was stopping on the way home at Maggie's Diner. Pan fried chicken, ribs and 9-inch meringue on coconut cream pie ...
